Thanks to you, David, I can be certain of the date I first saw Squeeze live. I was a very big fan several years prior to my first Squeeze gig at the Paramount on Staten Island and was thrilled to finally see this band that I loved. Their LPs were played over and over and over on my turntable since the late 70s.

The venue was an old theatre located right on Staten Island, where I lived at the time (and where I lived most of my life). It was a great place to hear cool bands play, hang out with friends and dance the night away.

I was extremely excited to be standing right in front of the band that night and I was thinking how perfect they sounded in person. I remember that I was quite impressed with their posh – looking suits. The boys looked very dapper and handsome. I was in “heaven” being so close to them, enjoying all those songs I loved (and still love). My first live Squeeze experience was a special night that I won’t forget. It was the first of MANY more Squeeze shows to come!

  I’ve seen them many times, but this was the first. Driver over from Jersey. Had just graduated H.S. . Great old venue. Front seats removed for dancing
