Squeeze Songbook

I’ve been working on the Squeeze Songbook recently, aided by Chris Difford who kindly sent me a CD of all the Squeeze lyrics he has on his Mac. You can find it under SQUEEZE SONGBOOK in the header. Please take a look. I’ve been able to include songs such as The Hunt and Saints Alive as well as No Disco Kid, No and other rarities and b-sides. I’ve also included alternative versions of some.

I’ve also included the Glenn Tilbrook Songbook as well as the Chris Difford Songbook with their solo work.

Comments are open! So please let me know if I’ve got any of them wrong – or any stories you have of misunderstanding them. Pulling muscles for Michelle anyone?

    • Thanks for the suggestion Tom – slowly does it! I’d love to put tabs / chords / sheet music and even full orchestral scores up here. There are some copyright issues there – maybe I’ll start with guitar chords?! I’ve also got the full music to the ‘Another Nail In My Heart’ guitar solo which is amazingly complex.

There are plenty of places for online downloads of sheet music for the hits – but nothing like a complete song book available. I’ll see what I can do – guitarists – I challenge you – send me your tabs/chords!

    • Tom,

You probably know this already but in case you don’t, the Squeezefan archive (link on the left) has chords included for some of the songs in its songbook section. I don’t know whether they’re official and accurate but they should be a good starting point.

      • I’d love to know how accurate the chords on squeezefan are – guitarists come to my aid – I’d hate to copy them and for them to be wrong.
Individual sheet music was produced for Take Me I’m Yours, Cool For Cats, Up the Junction, Slap & Tickle, Another Nail In My Heart, Is That Love, Labelled With Love, Hourglass and 853 5937. I’ve never seen separate sheet music for Tempted – surely some mistake?
Official books of music were available for Squeeze Singles (the ’45s and Under’ album tracks), Some Fantastic Place and Ridiculous.

      • thanks ive been using them for years. most are pretty good. as a collector i would love to add squeeze official song books to my collection. they are truly the best song writing team since lennon/mccartney. love the new site
