That’s the hat he wore on the cover of A Round and A Bout. Could I be correct two pictures in a row by speculating that this comes from that photo shoot?
He’s looking a bit young for the Round and About shoot. I’d say 1978.
And the badge says ‘You don’t have to be mad to be in this band. But it helps.’
It is indeed the hat from the same photo shoot as used on the A Round and A Bout LP sleeve. It’s from 1978.

Badge, I have no idea…
Correct on all accounts Bill! Now that badge – I’m sure it said something about the NME (New Musical Express)… There are lots of interesting photos of Chris in lipstick from the same shoot which for some reason haven’t seen the light of day.
