My Profile

Ive been a fan of Squeeze for 32 years and first saw them live and met the band at the old Glasgow Tiffanys in 1981, since then I have seen them play and met with all their various line ups at many many venues. I have also seen Chris and Glenn play live loads of times around the country. The current Squeeze line up has to be one of the best with a sense of real fun, camaraderie and musical class on show. Hard to say what my favourite album is as the early albums still sound great with their raw rock sound and the later albums oose craft in both music and lyrics. The comeback tour a few years ago was special as it meant I could take my son to see the band for the first time. He was 11 yrs old at the time ( the same age as myself when I first started listening to Squeeze)and for the next tour it seems like a whole family affair as my daughter, 11 yrs old, also wants to see the band. Look forward to the new Squeeze material and the new solo albums as well. Cheers Billy

packetofthree Oh yes, Questlove is the stunning drummer who plays and directs the house band on Late NIght With Jimmy Fallon – the show Squeeze appeared on in New York…

Cant wait for squeeze to hit Glasgow tomorrow night. I first became a fan in 1978, seen them live for the first time in 1980 at the Apollo in Glasgow then countless amounts of times since, from the smallest of clubs to the biggest of stadiums, the last time was a few years a go at the carling academy. Its brilliant to see Glenn and Chris on their solo tours but nothing beats the band together. Its like christmas come early. I have spent fortunes on the band in time and money over 32 years with a collection of over 200 pieces of vinyl and CDs and much more in memorabilia. I have to say they are sounding better these days than ever before so tight and oosing class. Good luck for Glasgow lads have a great night I know I will. Cheers Billy Cowie.

packetofthree That’s fantastic Billy – hope you have a great show! Don’t forget to tell us all what you thought of it by writing on the main site under the gig date – I can’t wait to hear what you thought – thanks!

Billco66 Anyone know when the first downloads from the saturday morning music club will happen and when we can fully register with the site?

Billco66 Looking forward to Chriss’ new album on the saturday morning music club site but do feel a bit let down with sellaband and the fact I invested all my christmas cash in that venture. Good luck with Cashmere if you can and the new site chris. Cheers Billy.

packetofthree I’ll have to check but I’ve got a feeling that having agreed to the new Terms and Conditions I can’t now get my money back out of Sellaband. Luckily it was only $50. It could have been worse – and was for some people.

Billco66 For your jukebox I’d bring some of my favourites – Walk Away, Vicky Verky, Womans World and some classics from the past Saints Alive and Cat on A Wall. Cheers Billy.
