John Bentley – The Man Who Never Was

John Bentley has been very busy in the past year and has released not one but two full-length CDs and appeared as a musician on others. His first released under his own name was ‘The Man Who Never Was’, an instrumental album of spy-thriller ’60′s influenced cool.

The Man Who Never Was - CD by John Bentley

I’m obviously biased because I designed the CD booklet for him. Here are some snippets of the album:

In addition there are some amazing videos made by David Milner on YouTube – check them out:

Anyone heard the album and want to review it?

John Bentley – Thief In The Night

Posted on YouTube by EclecticWarrior:

As the nights draw in join the wonderful John Bentley (Squeeze’s Bassist) in a romantic sojourn. The Eclectic Warrior’s visuals are of a mashed-up Fred Astaire. Cuddle up with someone you love…mmm…

Restrained piano, a bass solo and a heart-meltingly romantic song – just classic!

John Bentley interview

I met John Bentley yesterday and took the chance to record an interview with him. He was charming and you can hear him talking in depth about how he feels to rejoin Squeeze, what it was like recording East Side Story, and his forthcoming solo album in my new feature “The Tickler Podcasts” at packetofthree.com – just click on tickler podcast.

Enjoy!
