GOOD NEWS! FREE TICKETS & EXCLUSIVE VIDEO BLOG

News from the Squeeze camp just gets better and better. Almost halfway through the UK tour, and the boys, are playing to full houses across the country, delivering blistering hit after hit and never failing to please. To celebrate the delight, we are offering you 10 pairs of tickets to a private (but not so secret) show at London’s famous 100 Club, on December 14th, in association with Fred Perry.

The first 10 correct entries drawn at random on December 7th will win a pair of tickets (remember you must be able to be in London on that day).

Just EMAIL US AT spotthedifference@squeezeofficial.com with the answer to this simple question: Who has rejoined the band to play the keyboards on this tour?

And in addition to this, every day, Squeeze are running an exclusive behind the scenes diary of the tour, including a video, photos and a blog – powered, of course, by the SMMC Desktop App. We are bringing you exclusive footage from backstage, side of stage, dressing room – pretty much anywhere you can imagine (within reason) … so close it’s almost like being there.

Simon “Hanson’s Half Hour” Hanson is collecting material filmed by all sorts of band and crew members, and putting it together into a video for your viewing pleasure. Alice “The Captain” Martin, Squeeze’s tour manager, is bringing you “The Captain’s Blog” – a report of the days’ proceedings. We are sorting through 100′s of candid photos every day and selecting the best for the daily gallery, and there’s even an archive of all the previous days for latecomers. So there’s a fantastic array of daily goodies, waiting for you in the App, every day until the end of the tour.

Best of all, its FREE. All you need to do is to sign in to the members area of http://www.smmcmedia.com/amember/member.php – and select the Fred Perry option, install the App, and off you go. If, for some reason, you are not a member – you can sign up for free, at http://www.smmcmedia.com/amember/ – just select the Fred Perry Subculture option, register, and download away.

Remember – it’s free!

Please enjoy, with the compliments of Squeeze and Fred Perry.

We hope to see you on tour very soon, dates on www.squeezeoffical.com, or even at the 100 Club.

Cheers Loves

Squeeze blog, Fred Perry and Sub-Culture

Chris Difford set up a brilliant digital music / video / photo / blog system called SMMC – Saturday Morning Music Club which is a pure delight to use. It’s based on the same system that delivers BBC iPlayer and is such a smooth and trouble free experience. It was so successful with his Cashmere If You Can album and then with a re-release of Glenn Tilbrook’s Pandemonium Ensues (with six bonus tracks) that it has really taken off and there are exciting plans to use it again. Here’s the SMMC update:

We at SMMC and Squeeze Towers, after an autumn of r&r (research & relentless development) – are more than delighted to be able to announce that in the very near future we will be launching 2 incredibly exciting initiatives based around the awesome SMMC App, and of course our flag-waving standard bearers, SQUEEZE.

In association with our friends at Fred Perry, and their fantastic Sub-Culture website, we will be bringing you an “up close and personal” so intimate it should come with a personal space warning. Every single day of the tour, resident video blogger and occasional drummer Simon Hanson will be bringing us his unique take on the tour happenings, in the form of a short movie ….. delivered direct to the SMMC Subculture App.

Along with this, Captain Alice will be bringing us the Captain’s Blog – the diary of a tour manager. Alice will give us her insight and stories and experiences of how its going on the road, and is even threatening to throw in some pictures.

And finally – the inimitable and incomparable Chris Difford will be bringing us his bird’s eye view of the tour, daily – with Diff’s Pics, his choice of documentation from his very own camera.

All brought to you by Fred Perry Subculture. Every Day throughout the tour.

We aim to please.

Another exciting announcement to follow.

Well, where’s the announcement? Coming soon I hope!

All 11 Chapters of “Cashmere If You Can” are available together, at once. That’s a total of 37 songs, complete with lyrics, plus 11 videos, tons of exclusive photos, and loads more, all delivered via the incredibly clever and elegant Saturday Morning Music Club Desktop App.

Limited UK two CD edition includes a bonus disc, Live at the Fillmore. 2010 release from the British Pop Rock veterans, a collection of re-recordings of their biggest hits. Teenage friends Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook formed the band in 1973. Over 35 years later, with their legacy intact and as vital as it has ever been, Squeeze are still touring and reminding fans worldwide just why they have left such an indelible impression on the UK and US music scene. As befits one of the UK’s much-loved acts, there is no end of Squeeze fans currently wearing their influences firmly on their sleeve, whether it be Mark Ronson, Kasabian, Supergrass, Lily Allen, The Feeling or Razorlight. With their fingerprints keenly felt throughout the fabric of popular music, it is only right that these songs, with their evergreen and popular sound, continue to be played and enjoyed live.

So tell me – can you spot the difference?

Spot the Difference

As teenagers on the South London Scene in the 1970s, teenage friends Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook formed Squeeze, the pioneering UK band that saw them dubbed ‘The New Lennon and McCartney.” Championed early on by the Velvet Underground’s John Cale, who produced their debut EP, Packet Of Three,” Squeeze established their position as one of Britain’s most beloved bands with 1979’s Cool For Cats, setting off a career that would spawn decades and produce hits in the UK and abroad.

Now, some 35 years later, Squeeze have re-recorded 14 of their classic tracks for Spot the Difference, an album of all their classic hits re-recorded in a way so painstakingly faithful to the originals that they challenge you to spot the difference. There will also be two bonus tracks available digitally. The album will be released August 3 in the US through Anchor and Hope Music. The quality of these “new” tracks cements the band’s legacy, not only serving as a reminder of how great those songs were but how compelling they sound today.
