Apple Pie

Apple Pie
(Difford/Hewerdine)

He was the loneliest boy
He drifted out to sea
On a plank of wood
That set his whole life free

And then he found love
And all that it contains
The silence disappeared
With all of the games

He was the a lonely old soul
With nothing much to say
Love was just a shadow
That never passed his away

And so life revealed
The secrets and the lies
He wakes up every morning
With love in his eyes

But it’s not been easy
No walk in the park
I’ve lit up my moments
That used to be dark
With honesty
And a slip of the tongue
I’m out there for everyone
For everyone

I was the loneliest boy
But the happiest soul
A table for one
And a bacon roll
I open the door the sun said “hi”
‘Cos one day soon you’ll get your apple pie

One day soon you’ll get your apple pie

Apple pie
Apple pie
Apple pie
Apple pie
