Glenn sings Jack Dee’s Happy Hour

Jack Dee’s Happy Hour performed by Glenn Tilbrook and broadcast on BBC1 in April 2000

So does anyone have a full version? We’d all love to hear it!

  1. I’d love to hear the full version (if there is one) of the Channel 4 comedy “Father’s Day”, written by D&T but sung by Paul Young. It’s one of those songs that’s stuck in my head but I’ve not heard properly in nearly 30 years. I think I can remember hearing a recording of it on the old Squeezefan website or Corina’s Babylonandon. Another one of those itches that needs scratching!

    • No problem Tyrone – I’ll post the full 3 minute version of Fathers’ Day next then! It’s a great arrangement – and typically Squeeze. If only Paul Young had sung more of their material!

      • Thanks David. Yes, you’re right about the arrangement, instantly recognisable as Squeeze. Would I be correct in thinking that it was recorded at about the same time as SFAS? Paul did some of the backing vocals to Black Coffee.

        • Father’s Day ran from its Premiere in April, 1983 to the final show in August 1984, so just after Sweets From A Stranger and before Difford and Tilbrook. I’ll post it at the weekend for you :)
