Squeeze were the headliners at the Independence Day celebration in downtown Toledo, outdoor stage at Promenade Park, on the banks of the Maumee River. Great show, great day. Went with my fiancee and a bunch of friends from work. Finally got to see them again in August 2019 in Washington, with my wife of 29 years.

I remember that awesome show. My favorite memory of it was one of the boys (I think it was Glenn) did about 5 laps around the stage midset. I seem to recall it being really hot that day too. Rally by the River was always a good time

Also, I seem to recall that that show was put together at the last minute: Squeeze was supposed to open for Fleetwood Mac in Detroit but FM cancelled bc Christine McVie fell ill. That left Squeeze scrambling for a nearby venue, and Toledo’s Citifest people were happy to accommodate.
