The boiler in the cupboard
Was making noises like it might blow
The bath was overflowing
She lay there with her toe over the hole
Drinking from a tall glass
She shrivelled in the heat
A candle slowly burned down
As she raised one of her feet

She stood up in her bath robe
Hair twisted up inside a towel
Her eyes looking droopy
Sitting on the bath tub like an owl
We talked about a baby
The commitment that would be
I’d need a slight reversal
To bring back the chance to seed

I’m living in this moment
And this moment lives with me

I went to see the doctor
To find out how long it would take
Reversing all of the good work
I had taken care of by mistake
I should have been resistant
I’d not be knackered now
Sent out into the back field
The horse without a plough

I’m living in this moment
And this moment lives with me

I turned up at the clinic
Talking to the nurses with my charm
I laid upon the big bed
The doctor disappeared with both his arms
I fell asleep then woke up
My tubes had been repaired
I crawled back to the sofa
To my angel waiting there

She went to make some breakfast
I read the papers sitting on the bed
The smell of cooking bacon
Filling up the senses in my head
The test tubes were returning
With all the right results
The pain slowly subsided
With tiny little strokes

I’m living in this moment
And this moment lives with me

The baby born this morning
Is certainly a miracle to me
Her face has left me speechless
Another twig upon the family tree
I never though the salmon
Would swim back up the stream
The house is full of nappies
And little baby screams

I’m living in this moment
And this moment lives with me

A man outside the window
Was laughing at a drunk out on the street
His bag of chips fell open
Piled up all around him at his feet
I tried to light a fire
A paint brush in my hand
The room was decorated
Like some great wonderland

I’m living in this moment
And this moment lives with me
