Went to the Hammersmith Palais show around the same time. Seem to recall them doing the old Marvin Gaye number Too busy thinking about my baby.

You’re welcome. This show was my official introduction to Squeeze. I was really excited about seeing my first “new wave” show with Elvis Costello and I didn’t know much at all about the openers. They played “Another Nail” though and I recognized it from the radio. Within a week I bought UK Squeeze and Argy Bargy and listened to them non-stop.

I am Stacy’s brother. My college photo is hanging on the wall. I was a long time deadhead so I’d like to think I helped my little sister along the path in some of her musical habits. I never got to do it in real life. One of my life’s biggest regrets. I miss her so much and your story is wonderful. I’m pretty sure I never met you, but we may have and may yet again meet on some other plane. Cheers to you. And perpetual love to my dearly departed way too soon gone sister.

I was there too – month before my 16th birthday. Went for the hot rods who were great. Remember Chris introducing one song and saying it was all about smearing jam all over his girlfriend – cant remenber the song !! Radio Stars were great too !!

Really weirdly, a streaming version of this has now appeared on YouTube Music (replacement for Google Play Music). It’s not uncommon for a bootleg to turn up on there, they don’t always hang around for very long!

Listening to Pulling Mussels, this isn’t the same performance that features on the Greatest Hits Video/DVD. Jools is still in the band, so must be in support of Argy Bargy from the set-list.
