Artist Info Newsletter no 52

We have just recently moved office so apologies for not being in contact for a while but we have been unable to access our email list for a while. All back up and running now, very exciting to be in new offices.

We currently have a competition running, details below:

COMPETITION TIME! To answer this question you will need access to the tour program/brochure that was on sale (and you can still buy it from the shop) on the last UK Squeeze Tour… Answers on an email to competition@quixoticrecords.com.

The Question: On the cover is a kind of photo-montage of ‘Squeeze-land’ where you will find many references to Squeeze songs or lyrics, some obvious, some rather more subtle… How many are there and what are they? The cover spreads over onto the back where the dates are but for the purpose of this competition, please do NOT include any references featured on the ‘flyer’. (Someone else did the artwork for the flyer which we stylised for the program and we have no idea why there is a crucifix on it!). See thumbnail in left column.
The prize: 2 x Squeeze T shirts from the last tour (design – subject to availability).
Glenn Tilbrook’s latest demo CD (signed)
Chris Difford’s latest album (signed)
2 x tickets to a Squeeze show in the UK or the US (excluding festivals and one-off shows)
The Small Print: The Judge’s decision is final… If you spot some reference that was not intended (eg if you find a song where the word ‘sky’ is mentioned, then we are sorry but that won’t count. The idea is not to find as many as possible but to find all the ones that were intended. We know this may make things a little ambiguous but we hope not too much. There are no ‘tricks’ so just have a little fun with it! All correct answers will be put in a hat and one winner will be picked at random.

Closing date is 30th April, announcement 9th May.

Glenn and The Fluffers are currently working on the new album due out late September, they are all very excited about how things are going.

2007 Digitally Remastered Edition of the Album that Followed Up the Band’s Stellar Success with “East Side Story”. While Both Songwriters Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford Acknowledge it was a Forced Effort, the Sessions were Once Again Produced in Part by Elvis Costello and Still Managed to Produce Some Classics, Like the Global Hit Single “Black Coffee in Bed”, the Energetic “i’ve Returned” and the Torch-like “When the Hangover Strikes”. The Original Album Tracks Are Augmented with the One-off Hit Single “Annie Get Your Gun”, the Previously Released Bonus Songs “i Can’t Get Up Anymore” and “When Love Goes to Sleep”, the B-sides “i’m at Home Tonight”, “Elephant Girl”, “Spanish Guitar” and Rarities “Tomorrow’s World (Tilbrook’s Demo of “His House her Home”), the Demo of “Whenever We Meet” and “Last Call for Love”.

Now that’s what I call music.
