  Hi Richard – Thanks for the question. John Bentley joined Squeeze on Wednesday 28 February 1979 (that’s when Glenn phoned him to invite him to join). His first recordings with the band were on Friday 2 March 1979 when he played Cool For Cats, Slap & Tickle, Up the Junction and Hop, Skip & Jump at the Maida Vale studios for the BBC. John’s first gig with the band was on Saturday 17 March 1979. Hope that helps!
