Under fives: free admissionGlenn Tilbrook, one half of the legendary song writing duo Squeeze and now a successful solo artist, will be headlining this year’s Abbey Festival on Saturday 18 June.
Tilbrook has perfected a signature style marked by brilliant melodic invention, cheeky humour and slice-of-life pathos, all wrapped up with unshakable hooks and his golden boy tenor. From chestnuts like Up The Junction and Pulling Mussels through to stunning new tracks such as Untouchable” and Ray And Me,” festival goers are guaranteed a real treat.
Of course there are other musical delights awaiting the punters at the family festival, held at the Abbey Rugby Club site off Peppard Road in Emmer Green.
The Naked Apes
Other main stage acts include musical monkey magic from The Naked Apes, to the haunting and uplifting melodies from troubadour Don Mescall.Enchanting funky folksters Nayfumble will also be returning to Abbey Festival after spending a year kicking up a storm in festivals and gigs across the UK.
Just on the cusp of releasing their self-titled album, Welsh revellers The Storys will be tantalising festival goers ears with their unique blend of alternative country rock.
If this line up wasn’t enough to get you clambering for your tickets ASAP, we have Janie Price, aka Bird, to mesmerise you with her lush and atmospheric tunes, already tipped as the next Tori Amos by top music pundits.
If you’re looking for some ska 2-Tone and 60s soul action, The Skangsters, will not disappoint. This eight-piece are guaranteed to get you on your feet with their infectious appeal. Paperadio’s live show is also pretty high energy and guitar charged, with big anthemic rock tunes always leaving people wanting more.
And last but not least, The Bohemians will be sending you ‘radio ga-ga’ and rocking you in true glam rock style, already holding the accolade of the world’s leading tribute to Queen.

Previous years have attracted crowds of over 4,000 with top live music acts and ‘something for everyone’ appeal. With this year’s fabulous line up now confirmed, festival organisers are expecting a huge increase in numbers. The event supports the Sue Ryder charity with proceeds from the festival.
