Join Chris Difford, Musician, Lyricist and member of Squeeze and professional songwriting friends on board Queen Mary 2. Choose from 20-27 September 2011 sailing on the Transatlantic Crossing from Southampton to New York or the New England and Canada Voyage on 27 September – 7 October 2011.
Chris will be setting sail again:
As part of Cunard’s Professional Insights series, Chris Difford, along with other professional songwriters, will sail on board Queen Mary 2 for a series of voyages, the next on the 20 -27 September 2011 Transatlantic crossing to New York.
During the crossing, Chris and his team will offer workshops, all about songwriting. Guests will form into groups and write a song using their newly acquired songwriting skills. Members of the ship’s musicians will also be on hand to work with the groups on their songwriting creations. Not only will guests have a chance to benefit from these legendary songwriters, but the best will also have the opportunity to record their final song and take it home on CD. If you play the guitar, bring it with you.
I love the way Cunard bill Chris Difford as: “…perhaps best known as one of the founding members of the rock ‘n’ roll super band, The Who” Ha ha ha!
Cunard Line has enhanced its popular Insights Programme with new and exciting interactive activities for guests onboard Queen Mary 2!
In 2011, on select Transatlantic voyages on flagship Queen Mary 2, Cunard Line presents the Cunard Songwriters Programme, an interactive opportunity for guests to explore the world of writing music.
The Programme is presented by singer/songwriter Chris Difford, perhaps best known as one of the founding members of the rock ‘n’ roll super band, The Who.
Assisted by a number of professional singers and musicians, Difford walks Cunard guests through the songwriting process, from the kernel of a song idea, chorus or lyrics to the recording and performance of a song.
