  1. Having already promoted 2 GT & Fluffers gigs at Harrow Cricket Club in 2006, I was again delighted & excited to have them coming back for a warm up gig prior to their UK tour which was intended to promote their new release Pandemonium Ensues, which was eventually released in 2009 ! The set included all of Pandemonium and Binga Bong and several old faves, and when the familiar intro to Junction started the hairs really did stand up on the back of my neck, it was amazing to hear this live in my Club. It was the first time many of these songs had been heard in public, which was a thrill and we were ‘treated’ in the now traditional introducing the band section to Stephen performing ‘Video Killed The Radio Star’ and for one night only Simon singing Toni Basil’s ‘Hey Mickey’ which afterwards he swore ‘never again’, he was right the other gigs on the tour which I saw he had replaced it with ‘I Believe I Can Fly’.
The following month Glenn was off on a solo tour to Ireland and on the spur of the moment I decided to visit Ireland with my son Chris to take in a couple of gigs. Last minute flights and a hire car were arranged and a B&B booked in the tiny village of Tinahely, the venue of our first gig. Everthing went according to plan, and after a 1hr drive from Dublin we arrived in Tinahely which comprised of a few hundred houses and a square which had at least 4 pubs/bars and a small hall called The Courthouse Arts Centre. We took our seats and we were amused by the laid back and quaint Irish hospitality in that refreshements for the evening were either glasses of wine or tea/coffee in china cups and saucers. We noticed Glenn wandering around on the small balcony and he did a double take when he saw us. The audience was a mix of young and old, as if most of the village had turned out, and first on were 3 Irish lads called The Raglans. We enjoyed them and they went down really well and Glenn obviously was also very impressed. Glenn worked his socks off that night and gave one of the most energetic performances I have seen him give, running around, telling stories and he went down a storm, possibly his best solo performance I have seen. Afterwards he had a long chat with The Raglans which resulted in them coming over to London to record at Glenn’s studio ( and a support slot on his UK tour, but by this time they were a duo and on his late 2009 solo tour only Stephen was left.
The next day we toured around and the following morning drove to the west coast to Galway and another B&B. The Roisin Dubh (gaelic for Black Rose)is a regular music venue and whilst Glenn gave his all,and sang a new song (0-60) reading from a lyric sheet held by my son Chris, the audience was surprisingly sparse. Three very enjoyable days quickly came to a end, we drove to the small airport at Knock and sampled the ‘what you see is not what you pay’ delights of Ryan Air on our flight back to England.
