Great show boys – liked all the stuff new and old, a nice balance. Great too to hear the old songs live free from artistic interpretation (ie not messed about with). Compliments the last time I saw Glenn, doing a solo accoustic set and taking requests in a pub up the road in Sheff. To this day I can’t believe my luck in seeing that, one of the best. Thanks for a great night from a Gambardellas regular.

A great gig at the O2 Academy Sheffield. It was an hour’s drive for me and I was worried that there wouldn’t be a car parking space left near the venue. Amazingly there were absolutely loads in the multi-storey next to and underneath the venue – excellent I thought!

The venue was heaving around the bar and hot dog stall with a queue at the merch stand. I was lucky enough to have a Photo Pass so I took photos during the first three songs. ‘Without You Here’ is still sounding sublime and the intro. still sounds like ‘Germ Free Adolescents’ by X-Ray Spex to me.

The acoustic interlude was a real winner tonight with Glenn starting to relax into the tour and beginning to worry the rest of the band with his jazz. He has to keep it interesting for himself doesn’t he? I’m really looking forward to the CD from this one.

The final number, Goodbye Girl was marred by enormous feedback on everything apart from bass and drums, so Glenn led a drum and bass version of Goodbye Girl around the hall and out to the autograph table.

After liberating a huge poster from its metal frame (well, the venue didn’t need it anymore, did they?) it’s off into the night to find my car and to find the reason the car park was so empty. It was £11 for the few hours I was there. Bugger.

  Fantastic gig. The CD is a great idea.
  
  That car park is a massive ripoff. It used to be a fiver for the night and was full. Now it’s double that and empty. Economics?
  
  The outdoor council car parks around the city are free on Sundays and it wasn’t a long walk.
