Fighting For Peace

Fighting For Peace
(Difford/Tilbrook)

The baby is screaming
My nerves are tired
And my temper’s frail
I’m feeling frightened
What can I do to stop the pressure
Time has passed for me to measure

I’m dozing off when I’m dreaming slightly
When I hear a voice coming up behind me
Full of life and its ambition
Life’s my fight to its submission

Holding the fort when the battle’s ceased
Is easier than when your fights for peace

I’m spreading my face with margarine
My head revolves with the washing machine
Where is the door this is my exit
Here I go as if I’m tempted
