The USA release of [[If I Didn’t Love You]] as a single in 1980. I love the red black and white sleeve based on the inside artwork for the inner sleeve to the Argy Bargy LP. Never released in the UK, this was a favourite in the USA – so much so that A&M altered the track listing of “Argy Bargy” to include “If I Didn’t Love You” as the first track. The b-side was “Pretty Thing”, disguised as “Pretty One” to avoid more complaints of sexism. This single was released in an unedited 4:10 version on 12th March 1980 as the first single from “Argy Bargy” in the USA. Airplay was difficult as many people thought the needle was stuck on the If I, if I, if I… bit.
