One Day

One Day
(Difford/Dunnery)

Flying model aeroplanes
Landing on the window sill
Listening to the milkman
On the doorstep with his pint of milk
Fear was not a word I knew
Jumping from the highest tree
All of my imaginary friends who liked to jump with me

One day everything will be all right
One day…

First time that I got to fly
Mother cried into her sleeve
Liverpool as way below
Silver wings that kept us high
All my dreams were shattered there
When we flew above the sea
Never thought this world would spark the puer that’s inside of me

One day everything will be all right
One day my world will get to meet the sky
One day

If wishes were light
Then darkness would shine all around me
If living was sweet
We’d all still be living in honey
When it all seemed so simple and free
I got attracted to the other side of me

One day
Sometime
Some place

Crying at the check in gate
Praying for serenity
Looking at the great white clouds waiting in the sky above
Thinking I might not return

If wishes were light
Then darkness would shine all around me
If living was sweet
We’d all still be living in honey
When it all seemed so simple and free
I got attracted to the other side of me

One day
Wheels are going to touch the ground
Sometime
I’d like to be back down on earth
Someplace
I’ll fly that model aeroplane
One day
One day
