Squeeze – 22 October 1978 – live at Colston Hall Bristol
“Squeeze have yet to convert their impressive sales figures into hard-core fans.
The fact that The Tubes never came close to being eclipsed was not so much due to the compelling power of their own performance, but more to the frailties that beset Squeeze the moment they step on stage.
Despite their considerable recent success, as well as their years of experience, they still seem to lack confidence and conviction. The melody and imagination prevalent in so much of their studio work mysteriously evaporates as they hammer through their set with as much speed and as little dexterity as possible.”
