“Squeeze arrived on stage just after 9pm slightly later than billed and opened with Slap and Tickle which was met by a massive cheer from the crowd but it took six songs and a crowd favorite ‘Is That Love’ to get the crowd pluck up the courage and go stage front to get the dancing going, welcomed by Glenn Tilbrook.
Excellent Acoustic versions of ‘Labelled With Love’ and “Take Me I’m Yours’ came midway through a set rammed with hits ‘Cradle To The Grave’, ‘Annie Get your Gun’, ‘Tempted’, ‘Up The Junction’ and concluding with ‘Pulling Mussels (From the Shell)’. Of course the crowd weren’t going to let them off without an encore!! Squeeze returned to the stage, graciously accepted the adoration from the crowd and played ‘Goodbye Girl’ then closing with ‘Cool For Cats’.
An excellent end to an excellent series of gigs in an excellent venue, pity about the not so excellent weather… but then again it is Scotland.”
