Glenn’s UK acoustic tour at the end of the year has turned out to be a mammouth 36 dates! The tour support is going to be provided by our lovely friend Steve Poltz from San Diego. I am sure many of Glenn’s US fans will remember Steve as he has supported Glenn over the pond before. He is amazing and I am sure you will all absolutely love him.

The tour is going to be very different from anything Glenn has done before. The show is acoustic but there will be plenty of surprises. We are going to be recording every night and making the show available at the end of the night at the merchandise stall. So many people have asked for so long about making his acoustic shows available, well we have finally got round to it, and you can be part of the release you take home!

He will be performing some new songs on the tour that have yet to be put on to CD. So not only the new Co-Operative material but also new Glenn Tilbrook solo material to look forward to.

Squeeze are in South Shields on Friday this week at the Great North Run show and then Vicar Street on Sunday 18th. These are the last Squeeze shows this year.

There are lots of exciting plans in progress for next year for Glenn and Squeeze, we will get back to you soon with some more information.

Hope you are able to get to some of Glenn’s shows if you are in the UK.

Thanks for all the continued support.

The Quixotic Team.

The Co-Operative: Glenn with Nine Below Zero

Confirmation of Glenn Tilbrook’s latest project comes from the Nine Below Zero web site:

Latest News

The project with Glenn Tilbrook is now finished and has a release date of mid-September. Rather than it be Glenn Tilbrook and Nine Below Zero we felt the project needed a name: The Co-Operative consists of five new songs, self-penned, three covers, and three self-penned instrumentals. We are really happy with the project and will be launching it at the gig in Greenwich on the 28th of July 2011.

News News News

Things may have seemed quite quiet in the Squeeze camp recently but it’s the calm before the storm. There’s so much happening it’s hard to fit it all in one post, but I’ll have a go.

Firstly this week there’s the Greenwich Summer Sessions with the following:

Glenn Tilbrook is playing with Nine Below Zero in their support spot to Status Quo in Greenwich on Thursday 28th July 2011.
Squeeze are playing on Friday 29th July 2011 supported by Turin Breaks

Chris Difford is curating Songs in the Key of London on Sunday 31st July with a guest appearance from…. yes, you guessed, Glenn Tilbrook.

Glenn Tilbrook and Nine Below Zero will be releasing a new album shortly (artwork available soon). It’s an 11 track album featuring the band and Glenn with three classic cover versions, three instrumentals and five original compositions by the boys. They’re all really excited about the project. Anything they do in the future will be under the name ‘The Cooperative’.

Expect to see the next of Glenn’s demo CDs later in the year. It’s going to be a good one.

Also coming soon is the release date of If I, If I, If I… The Songs of Squeeze Revisited.

50-track, 4-CD album covering the first four Squeeze records – “Squeeze,” “Cool For Cats,” “Argybargy,” and “East Side Story” – in their entirety and in their original track sequence. Features many of your favorite artists from previous Burning Sky Records releases, as well as some great new discoveries. To be released July 26, 2011, this will be Burning Sky Record’s most ambitious album yet!

Look out for a comprehensive review of this beautiful package and a competition to win a copy in the next few days. Pre-order here!

Glenn will be continuing to DJ and play at The Pelton Arms in Greenwich on Thursday nights in the future. Nights he will not be there he will be replaced by ’2bit’ Squeeze producer Andrew J Jones. A fantastic night whichever DJ turns up!

There are some Thursday nights at the Pelton that Glenn won’t be able to do. In his place will be 2bit, he is Glenn’s friend and collaborator in production for The Fluffers and also Squeeze, Andrew J Jones. Andy guest DJ’d with Glenn a couple of weeks ago.

The dates that 2bit will be in place of Glenn are: 21st July, 28th July, 4th and 11th August.

Glenn and Nine Below Zero

Glenn is currently in the studio trying out a few tracks with Nine Below Zero with the possibility of an EP before their joint tour. Those of you who have checked out Snipturn‘s excellent YouTube Channel will have seen Glenn playing acoustic double bass with Dennis Greaves and Mark Feltham on the classic Nine Below Zero track ‘The Story of Nathan John’.

‘The Story of Nathan John’ is the standout track from the 2009 album ‘It’s Never Too Late!’ released on Ikon Originals. Glenn plays ebo, hand claps and backing vocals on ‘You’re The Man’, banjo on ‘The Story of Nathan John’, backing vocals on ‘I’m So Alone’, sitar on ‘A Man Out of You’, Wurlitzer piano on ‘Fairweather Friends’ and plain old guitar on ‘You’. Classic!

The Raglans

Anyone who saw The Raglans play as support to Glenn Tilbrook will have been impressed – great songs, lively performance and loads of character. Their EP ‘Where Do We Go From Here?’ (available from the Quixotic Records Shop) has four tracks. Luke and Stephen play many of the instruments, but who’s this on electric guitar, bass and additional backing vocals? Glenn Tilbrook. Who’s on drums? Simon Hanson. And on the Wurlitzer? Stephen Large. Just to cap it off there’s additional backing vocals and hand claps from Dennis Greaves of Nine Below Zero.

Glenn produced tracks 1 and 2 ‘In The Night’ and ‘The Afterthought’ and it was recorded at Glenn’s 45 RPM Studios in Charlton.
