Finally, after two days, I am able to tell everyone about Glenn’s show in Phoenix!! The doors to the Bash on Ash (a very small club) opened at 8 p.m. I did not want to take any chances, so I picked up my brother at 6 p.m. There is a sports bar attached to the club, so we went there to eat and get in on their happy hour. We had just finished, it was 7:00, and two people walked up and sat down behind us. I turned around, and it was Glenn and Suzanne!!!!!!!! Imagine my complete surprise. I just said, “hi Glenn!” He was startled that someone knew who he was but said hello! I then spent the next hour off and on talking to him about all sorts of probably unimportant things, but when my brother and I got up to go next door, I thanked him because they just had about a 10 – 12 hour drive from Santa Fe, New Mexico. He looked tired.

The opening act for Glenn that night was Heather Eatman. She flew from NY that morning and was not shy to tell us that she did not have any sleep from the night before. She had a pretty good set despite several rude people in the back who were talking so loud that you could barely hear her.

Glenn took the stage wearing the same clothes that I saw him in next door – a blue billabong t-shirt, tan trousers, and Nike sneakers. He also had a neat glow in the dark watch on. He played Letting Go, and then showed everyone the big empty space in front of the stage. I walked up to the stage, and everyone else scooted their tables and chairs to the stage!! It was quite amusing to see. By the way, there were no more than 100 in attendance. I was sad for Glenn, but happy for me. I forgot to say that one of the things that I talked to him about was I made a request for him to play Maidstone. He told me to shout it out at first, but by the end of the hour that we talked, he said that he would remember.

He explained it much funnier than I have!! He talked a lot between each song. Back to the list:

As tired as he looked earlier, he put on a flawless show enjoyed by all despite one idiot that Glenn took so well. He probably just wanted to hand him the guitar and say, “here, you finish”. Even though it was a small crowd, a lot of people bought his cd. A few stayed after to meet him, including me. I was last to see him, and he said, “see, I remembered!” I thanked him and had him sign a cd for Maggie’s friend. He told me to send my (his) love to Maggie and Helen. I took a picture of him alone, one of him and I. He hugged me and thanked me for being a part of the field staff hanging up posters for him.”
